The Archer On Horseback

The rider is so cocky and self-assured,
And dressed with finesse in elegant haute couture,
He carries a bow and a quill full of arrows,
And comes o’er the bridge on a main road that narrows.
The rider, mysterious, inspires fear.
The townspeople gather all hoping to hear.
What could be this rider’s errand on this day?
A mask hides the rider’s face to their dismay.
The archer on horseback looks stoically ahead.
The targets await their fate to end up dead.
And no one will dare to raise weapon in hand.
The Archer is the recognized law of the land
The crowd is dispersing back in to the town
The Archer has thrown the arm of justice down
Is this divine providence, or royalty’s plan?
Is the Archer archetypical woman or man?

I’ll drop you a line in cyberspace
I’ll give you some news, and just in case
you have the time, perhaps you could place
some words of your own in this virtual space
It’s been a long while since I’ve posted to you
the latest stories and anecdotes, the fat that we chew
In our world of crowding information it seems
That we take up the made up time with leisure and dreams
You don’t need a stamp or any envelopes
to offer someone your dreams and wishes and hopes
Just temper your emoticons with burning desire
and keystroke the keyboard of your digital Lyre

If I had the seed so I could feed every being on Earth
Then all alive would flourish and thrive living in joy and mirth
±
If I had my way today'd be the day to end all the dirty deals
Vanquish false pride deign to provide free abodes and free meals

The Trans Fatty Asses Silver Spring, Maryland
The Trans Fatty Asses made a false start in 2010 when Todd Osborn (drums, guitar, voice, songs) attempted to put a live band together comprised of Bob Crain (drums, guitar, voice), Nick Johnson (Keys, electronics), and Aki Zenji (bass). Zenji had to leave the band, was replaced, but it all splintered after that due to bad timing. Osborn picked it up again as a personal recording project in 2016. ... more
