You may go where you go, but you do what we tell you to do. You might do what you want, but you see what we want you to see. You will say what you will, but you can’t keep away from us for long. You may be what you are, but you eat what we tell you to. If you like what you see, it can be yours in no time at all. If you don’t have the cash, we can lay it on hold for you. We can make you the deal, one that you will be loath to decline. Because we aim to please, you will find that you will make the time. We would like you to see our new commodity, you may get one free It’s that or it’s this, a consumer’s bliss, and something you shouldn’t miss We’ve priced them to move, get them while they are new, comes in red, white, and blue If you like it or not, you will spend what you’ve got, it’s your right and your lot lyrics by Todd Franklin Osborn ©2022 Heaventree Records administered by ASCAP

Once upon a time people were shorter and lived by the water. They grew their own food and hunted animals to slaughter. They learned what they needed to keep their kind alive. If they got sick they were bled and if the land was bare they moved to survive. Fast food is for slow people. This knowledge has not been passed down. Progress without it will bury us underground. The foundation of reality is unfound. We scream “responsible intelligence,” but we don’t hear a sound “When will I get what I get to keep?” * We have become sissies crying in our sleep. A feeling of entitlement begins to sweep (over us). We think we’re the shepherds but we’re still the sheep. Fast food is for slow people. lyrics by Todd Franklin Osborn ©2022 Heaventree Records administered by ASCAP * from "Julian H. Cope" (Jehovahkill)

So many people in such a small space, and they just can’t stop thinking about the money to be made. Their brains are all cracking/wracking to find something to sell, and if nobody needs it, well, what the Hell...cuz... That’s what marketing’s for, to even the score and keep us all poor. Faceless minions of greed tell us what we all need and that we need more. Manufactured desire, corporations conspire, and they preach us their lore. All their traps have been laid before the debts have been paid, that’s what marketing’s for. Built-in obsolescence is a valuable tool, and the media machine is trying to keep us all playing the fool, telling everybody they are nothing without it; and with no interest till next year, then you’ve no reason to doubt it Lexus, Sony, Gap, Max Factor, Nike, Gucci, well, it’s not Victoria’s Secret that they get them to sell. lyrics by Todd Franklin Osborn ©2022 Heaventree Records administered by ASCAP

The road to my recovery, for my heart, has been so hard. The trails and trials of love have kept me, oh, so on my guard. But I’ve tried to keep some faith and tell myself it will be alright, even though belief in me won’t even get me through tonight. I thought I’d never fall in love again. I thought I’d never find that special friend. I thought I’d never look into those shining eyes so bright. I thought I never touch another lover’s hand. I thought I’d never make it out of “never” land. I thought I’d never fall in love again… I figured if I’d come this far that I still had some hope, that maybe love would say “yes” this time, but no, no, nope. Just when I think I should give up, that I am on my last rope, I catch myself saying, “no, that’s not for me, not while I can still cope." …and it turns out I was right. lyrics by Todd Franklin Osborn ©2022 Heaventree Records administered by ASCAP

about

The Trans Fatty Asses Silver Spring, Maryland

The Trans Fatty Asses made a false start in 2010 when Todd Osborn (drums, guitar, voice, songs) attempted to put a live band together comprised of Bob Crain (drums, guitar, voice), Nick Johnson (Keys, electronics), and Aki Zenji (bass). Zenji had to leave the band, was replaced, but it all splintered after that due to bad timing. Osborn picked it up again as a personal recording project in 2016. ... more
